NetRix Center

Lichtman NetRix Center for Young Internet Entrepreneurs

Initiated and supported by a generous contribution from Igal & Michal Lichtman, in memory of Dr. Gershon Lichtman, this unique, state-of-the-art Center features an interactive, advanced technological environment, which, in addition to being a lot of fun, allows MadaTech visitors to fully experience how powerful, diverse and inspiring, the internet is--with its seemingly infinite information, the extraordinary opportunities it opens up, as well as the inherent threats it poses.

The Center's outsize exhibits, pertaining to diverse internet aspects, include: The Internet Evolution - viewed on giant screens, courtesy of Netvision; an Avatar Museum - Gyzmoz, the first of its kind in the world, featuring innovative software, through which people select items for their avatar persona/representation and then have a 3-D photo taken to use in internet games and virtual worlds. Internet abuse is illustrated through a Robotic Worm that crawls under a glass floor and is thwarted by a firewall; and Internet Abuse Traps, with foot-activated sensors that ignite short flash films on internet dangers.

This unique, one-of-a-kind Center, formally inaugurated in January 2009, will serve the half a million visitors who flock to MadaTech every year, as well as the ever-growing vibrant StartupSeeds community, of young internet geeks--all future entrepreneurs in the field--which currently numbers over 1,300 young members.
